Can you still tell an AI image from a real photo?

AI or Real is a daily game that tests one skill: spotting AI-generated images. Each puzzle mixes real photographs taken by people with images made by current AI models. Some days it is easy. Some days almost everyone gets fooled.

After every guess you see what percentage of players got that photo right, so you know whether you missed something obvious or whether the whole world was fooled with you. At the end you can compare your score with every country that played today.

Questions

How does AI or Real work?

Every day at midnight UTC there is a new set of 10 photos. For each one you decide whether it is a real photograph or an AI-generated image. After each guess you see the answer, how many players got it right, and the detail that gives it away.

Where do the real photos come from?

Real photos come from open libraries like Openverse and Wikimedia Commons, licensed CC0, public domain or CC BY. Every real photo is credited to its photographer after you guess.

Which AI models make the fake images?

We use several current image models so you cannot learn the style of just one. Many AI images are prompted from a description of a real photo in the same set, so the subject alone does not give the answer away.

Can I play older puzzles?

Yes. Every past puzzle stays playable in the archive, and the quiz mode serves random photos from earlier days without limit.

Is it free?

Yes. The game is free and needs no account. Your streak and stats are stored on your device.
